About Us

Karen
Our story started in October of 2004. I decided to take my first plunge into on-line dating. I signed up for eHarmony and paid for a full year's membership, sure that it would take at least that long to find someone worth a darn. During the first week I was matched up with some guy named Gaines who lived in some town I never heard of (Junction City??). It didn't take long before I realized that I had a gem there on my computer monitor and decided to invest a little time in this prospect.
As it goes on eHarmony, we "communicated" for a some time and things began to click. It became clear to me that Gaines was a very special person and as it has been my supreme pleasure to find out he is the finest person I have ever met, and I sometimes still can't believe that I get to spend the rest of my life with him.

Along with the quiet joy of spending each day with Gaines, he has also given me the gift of living in this paradise that he and his family made their home over forty years ago. Together we walk these mountains and fully appreciate the beauty that is all around us. Early on we agreed that a very important aspect of a life spent together would be that we both "pulled the same plow". For us, that means we work hard together towards a common goal and that we enjoy that work. And that has become one of the greatest truths of our relationship.

If you have ever stood upon a mountain ridge top with the morning rays of the sun beginning to light up the world while you look upon the valleys and ridges all around you, and feel in yourself the sense of wonder and expectancy of a bright day ahead, then you know how Karen makes me feel.

Karen brings me a feeling of warmth and contentment.  I feel pride in her with the full knowledge that whatever she does will be done right. This is true whether she is taking care of the grandkids, working on a photo project, or making sure that house guests are looked out for. I am proud too, that she is strong as well as sweet, and practical as she is tender.

In her kindness and compassion I take comfort. To see her make another feel better makes my heart swell.

She in her garden, joy in her heart with the nurturing of flowers, vegetables, or fruit trees makes me happy too.

When Karen loves you, you are loved and I am so lucky to have found her, the truly one and only. It seems more than just chance that we met.

Forever and for always Karen is my love.
